Hackathons are great opportunities to learn, develop, and solve problems through building something new. They are risk free opportunities to step out of your comfort zone, engage with projects, and possibly win prizes.

Polygon thrives off of its strong relationships with developers building on its platform and fosters a culture of support and mentorship. This summer Polygon is participating in Gitcoin Grants round 10, where they will be awarding $10k to some of the best projects.

What are Gitcoin Grants?

“Gitcoin Grants is our quarterly fundraising event that enables open source projects of all sizes to seek and receive community funding.

Gitcoin Grants Rounds are a focused coordination of project launches and community investment that expands earning opportunities.” — Gitcoin

This round of Gitcoin Grants is especially interesting for the community at QiDao as one of Polygon’s challenges references MAI (miMatic) directly.

What is the Challenge?

How might we build a donation app on top of Polygon using native stablecoins like MAI (miMATIC), for giving tokens to your favorite creator, project, or meme lord?

What are stablecoins?

Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies that are pegged to other assets, such as the US dollar, making them much less volatile.

Due to their low volatility and predictable nature Stablecoins play an extremely important role in the DeFi world.

What are the submission requirements?

  • All submissions must be deployed on the Polygon Testnet or mainnet.
  • A demo video and Github repo link must be submitted for a complete submission

What is the judging criteria?

The following factors will be considered when deciding winners:

  • originality of the idea
  • user experience (good design, intuitive, easy to use)
